Program Director
David Lebowitz, MD
Dr. Lebowitz obtained his MD at SUNY Upstate Medical University in Syracuse, NY and completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at Florida Hospital in Orlando, FL where he served as Chief Resident. Dr. Lebowitz successfully completed a certificate in Informatics from AMIA – OHSU/ACEP. His academic efforts are focused on supporting the Medical Informatics Longitudinal Curricular Theme for the UCF College of Medicine as their Co-Director. As the Co-Director for the Medical Informatics LCT he introduces all of the medical students to the concept of Informatics, the world of electronic resources, and teaches evidence-based medicine which helps students immerse themselves in lifelong learning. Dr. Lebowitz also is Co-Director for the WikiProject Medicine elective where fourth year medical students have the opportunity to improve and enrich the quality of Wikipedia Health related articles, through use of evidence based resources and critical appraisal of the literature. Dr. Lebowitz’s dedication to innovative education has been recognized by the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, awarding him both the prestigious Innovative Teaching Award and Early Career Educator Award. Dr. Lebowitz is the co-author of Step Up to Step 2 CK, a medical student review book. This is in addition to his multiple publications, national presentations, and many research abstracts. Dr. Lebowitz currently serves on the Florida College of Emergency Physicians (FCEP), board of directors.

Ariel Vera, MD, FACEP
Dr. Vera received his MD from the University of Puerto Rico School of Medicine. During his medical school years, he was awarded the Distinguished Medical Student in Emergency Medicine Award and was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society. He completed his residency training from the University of Puerto Rico Emergency Medicine Residency Program where he served as Chief Resident and was awarded the Outstanding Lecturer Award.
After developing a passion for the care and management of children, Dr. Vera completed a Pediatric Emergency Medicine Fellowship from Morristown Medical Center in Morristown New Jersey. He has published pediatric chapters for Critical Care Emergency Medicine and the First Aid for the Pediatrics Clerkship. His other areas of interest include toxicology and medical education.

Dr. Stephanie Cohen
Dr. Stephanie Cohen was born in Buffalo, New York and is a graduate of the University of Central Florida where she studied Psychology in addition to her pre-med studies. She obtained her medical degree at Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine in Bradenton, Florida and served as a chief resident at the University at Buffalo Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Cohen completed her Simulation Medicine Fellowship at the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida. Dr. Cohen’s medical interests include academic medicine, medical education, simulation, evidence-based medicine, and critical care. In her free-time you can find her watching sports (Go Bills!) or kickboxing.
Dr. Shayne Gue
Dr. Gue was born and raised in Huntington, West Virginia, where he received his medical degree from the Joan C. Edwards School of Medicine at Marshall University in 2015. He completed his Emergency Medicine Residency at AdventHealth East Orlando where he led as Chief Resident, was named Resident of the Year (in 2018), and served as President of the Emergency Medicine Residents’ Association of Florida.
Dr. Gue currently sits on the Board of Directors for the Florida College of Emergency Physicians where he serves as co-chair of the Membership and Professional Development Committee. He chairs the planning committee of Symposium by the Sea, FCEP’s annual meeting and conference, as well as participating in Emergency Medicine Days, the premier advocacy event for Emergency Medicine in Florida. He is also actively involved in national committees within ACEP and SAEM.
He is completed a Master’s in Medical Education from the Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine and further educational training through the American College of Emergency Physicians Teaching Fellowship. He is the recipient of the AdventHealth GME Faculty of the Year Award for 2020 and the ACEP Microteaching Award for 2021.His educational interests are focused on developing novel approaches to graduate medical education in the form of Team-Based learning curriculum and gamification. Additionally, he enjoys educating our future leaders on the non-clinical aspects of medicine such as wellness/resiliency, advocacy, administration, and organized medicine as a whole.
Dr. Tracy MacIntosh
Dr. Tracy MacIntosh has a clinical interest in trauma and critical care medicine as well as international health and community engagement. She enjoys using ultrasound in the care of emergency patients and is eager to teach residents and medical students on its clinical use in the ED.
She attended Yale School of Medicine and completed her residency training at Yale New Haven Hospital, with an academic concentration in Global and Public Health. She has worked with Partners in Health in Haiti, providing emergency care, teaching residents and helping to open a new emergency department.
She serves as the advisor to the UCF Student National Medical Association and is working at the medical and graduate medical education levels to improve diversity in recruitment, and support mentoring of, underrepresented minority students and residents. She has a personal interest in local community outreach and exposing medical students to a broad range of clinical settings. She has been honored by UCF for her bedside clinical teaching skills and community service.
Dr. MacIntosh has received numerous teaching awards including the early career educator award and the clinical excellence and professionalism award. She is excited about creating an innovative residency curriculum and training the next generation of emergency physicians in a rewarding and fulfilling career.
Dr. Javier Rosario
Dr. Rosario received his MD from San Juan Bautista School of Medicine in Puerto Rico. As a medical student, he founded the Emergency Medicine Interest Group for his school and promoted the group to educate students about EM and its procedures. He completed his residency training from the University of Puerto Rico Emergency Medicine Residency Program. Dr. Rosario moved to Florida to complete his Ultrasound Fellowship Program Training. He was then appointed to the role of Assistant Fellowship Director of Ultrasound where he revised and updated the fellowship curriculum to meet ACEP standards, helped with recruiting and served as the Ultrasound Coordinator and Credentialing Facilitator for the Advent Health Hospital Emergency Department. He has completed an Advanced Simulation Instructor Course with the Harvard Medical affiliated Center for Medical Simulation, in Boston. He has received the Innovative Teaching Award by UCF, presented in national conferences such as FCEP, ACEP, and SAEM. He has served as Co-Chair of the ACEP Emergency US Simulation Subcommittee and more recently as the ACEP Emergency Ultrasound Section Secretary. His passions include ultrasound administration, use and development, simulation, resident wellbeing and medical student education.
Dr. Ayanna Walker
Dr. Walker currently serves as the EMS medical director for Osceola County Fire Rescue, Kissimmee Fire Department, and St. Cloud Fire Rescue. In line with her passion for innovative educational strategies, she is also the medical director of paramedic education for the Orlando Medical Institute.
Dr. Walker was born in Lakeland, Florida, earned her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing at the University of Miami, and then went on to obtain a medical degree at Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta.
Dr. Walker completed a three-year residency in Emergency Medicine at Orlando Health and matriculated an additional year as a fellow of Emergency Medical Services, where she also served as the Assistant EMS Medical Director of Orange County. Dr. Walker is board certified in Emergency Medicine, with a sub-specialty certification in EMS. She has since worked in a Level I trauma center, two community hospitals, and a free standing emergency department. With her experience in diverse working environments, she enjoys bedside teaching with a practical, evidenced based approach in order to prepare residents to work in any type of EM environment
Dr. David Lane
David R. Lane, MD, FACEP is a graduate of Swarthmore College and Emory University School of Medicine. He trained in emergency medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School.
Dr. Lane has been practicing since 2005 in the Washington, D.C. area, at Medstar Washington Hospital Center and Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. Dr. Lane was deeply involved in medical student and resident education for the first 10 years of his career, serving as the Clerkship Director of Emergency Medicine and also appointed to the Admissions Committee at Georgetown University School of Medicine. In 2015, he became the Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine at Medstar Southern Maryland Hospital Center in Clinton, MD.
In 2018, Dr. Lane returned to his home state of Florida and embraced a position as Medical Director and Chairman of the Department of Emergency Medicine at Osceola Regional Medical Center. He is enthusiastic to serve the community in Kissimmee and Orlando, and to lead the continued academic development of the Department of Emergency Medicine.
Dr. Lane is board certified in emergency medicine, and is an Associate Professor of Emergency Medicine at University of Central Florida College of Medicine as well as the Georgetown University School of Medicine.
Dr. Larissa Dub
Dr. Dub received her MD from the Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. She completed her residency training at William Beaumont Hospital where she served as the Chief Resident and was awarded the Resident Teaching Award of the Year.
After completing her residency training, Dr. Dub relocated to the Orlando area and began working at Osceola Regional Medical Center. She has a strong interest in academics and administration and a strong passion for improving the patient experience, care and safety. She enjoys rescuing animals and has a love for fast cars.
