The study comes from HubScore, which specializes in marketing, industry data, development and more. The website analyzed "data gathered from various national cooking and lifestyle surveys across all 50 states" to determine each state's favorite side dish, according to the report.
While mashed potatoes dominated the competition in most states, Texas was not alone in having green bean casserole as its favorite dish. The other states that love the classic side are Alaska, Idaho, Kansas, Louisiana, New Hampshire, New Mexico, Oklahoma, Utah and Wyoming.
