Is there a Mrs. Claus?
Yes! Santa and Mrs. Claus have been together for a very long time. Mrs. Claus lives with Santa and the elves at the North Pole. We aren’t exactly sure where Mrs. Claus is from, but she mentions that she was born somewhere in southern Canada. She never complains about how cold it is, and even wears a T-shirt and shorts in the middle of winter! It would make sense that she grew up somewhere that had a similar climate to the North Pole. She wears a lot of hats around the workshop, but one of her favorite things to do is bake cookies for the elves. Remember how Santa promised the elves they would have a lifetime supply of cookies for helping him with his workshop? Well, once Santa became so busy with his work, Mrs. Claus offered to take over the cookie baking for him. She has been doing it for so many years that she has now mastered every kind of cookie you could think of. One of her personal favorites is a confetti sprinkle cookie that tastes like birthday cake batter. Santa always requests Snickerdoodle, because he is a sucker for something cinnamon. The elves aren’t too picky, but they usually like a classic chocolate chip or white chocolate macadamia nut, but it can be hard to find macadamias all the way up in the North Pole.
Mrs. Claus also loves taking care of the reindeer year round. She has spent years learning the ins and outs of reindeer care and how to best take care of a flying animal. It’s important they are always in tip-top shape, so regular exercise is critical. You can’t have Rudolph gaining a ton of weight and then dragging the whole sleigh down! Sometimes if they have been very good, Mrs. Claus will even sneak them a cookie or two. If the reindeer were being very honest, they would probably tell you that Mrs. Claus is her favorite. Just don’t mention anything to Santa.
Mrs. Claus also loves helping Santa design toys and work around the shop during the peak times before Christmas. She usually helps Santa decide who is deserving of going on the Nice list, and even some of those unfortunate children on the Naughty list. So it’s best to always be on her good side, because she just may have an influencer on where you end up. Children are mostly used to speaking with Santa about their gifts, but did you know you might have the chance to speak with Mrs. Claus as well? How old is Mrs. Claus?
That is kind of a sensitive subject around the North Pole, many of us are afraid to ask. Mrs. Claus is much more tight-lipped about her age than Santa is. The last time she talked about it, she mentioned she stopped counting when she turned 170. Similar to Santa, the elves believe Mrs. Claus is roughly the same age, around 1,700 years old. Mrs. Claus is from Canada, so she is very used to the cold temperatures in the North Pole. She has spent the majority of her life living in very similar conditions, so she is never fazed even through the most intense blizzards. It took Santa a while to get used to it all, so Mrs. Claus knitted him the coziest winter coat he had ever worn. He still wears it on the extra chilly days. You would never know it, however, and Mrs. Claus is as lively as she has ever been. She never stops working around the toy shop, helping Santa with his projects and managing the elves’ shift schedules. Even though the elves are incredibly hard-working, they deserve a few days off every now and again too. If you asked the elves, they would tell you Mrs. Claus’s most important task is her cookie baking. If you hadn’t heard already, Santa promised the elves they would get a lifetime supply of freshly-baked cookies in exchange for their help building Santa’s workshop. They are also very particular and won’t settle for just any cookie. You cannot find a better cookie recipe anywhere else in the North Pole. Now, maybe that’s due to the fact that no other humans live in the North Pole, but we will give credit where credit is due. Mrs. Claus also has another very important job as the primary caretaker of all of the North Pole’s reindeer. She would never take favorites, but she spends most of her time with Rudolph. His bright red nose definitely makes it a lot easier to walk around at night! It was Mrs. Claus’s job to name all of the reindeer when they first arrived at the shop, and she has named every one born since. We aren’t sure where she comes up with the names, but they sure are easy to remember. When Santa asked the reindeer to help him deliver toys on Christmas eve, Mrs. Claus was there to help ready them for their journey and calm any nerves they may have had. What is Mrs. Claus’ First Name?
Mrs. Claus typically doesn’t go by a first name, so that can be kind of a tricky question to answer. She also doesn’t like to give out a ton of information about her past or some of her personal details. She says it’s because she loves being Mrs. Claus so much that she doesn’t want anyone to refer to her as anything else. But the earliest records we have of Mrs. Claus’s first name comes from a historically accurate set of stories written by James Rees in 1849. This book of stories is called “Mysteries of City Life.” In it, Mr. Rees asserts that Mrs. Claus’s first name is in fact Gertrude. Now, we haven’t been able to officially confirm that with Mrs. Claus herself, but it seems like it just might be true. Some other stories also reference that Mrs. Claus used to be a schoolteacher, and they would often call her Miss Gertrude. Mrs. Claus has spoken a little bit about her time as a teacher, and she has said that sometimes her students would try and be funny by calling her by her first name. However, she won’t actually spill the beans on what exactly that first name was. Santa won’t give out any details and insists that Mrs. Claus would not be very happy if he was to let anything slip. We don’t want to get Santa into any trouble, so it’s best to not press him too hard on it.
She hasn’t gone by that name in a very long time, and she mentioned that if you MUST know, you can call her by her middle name, Jessica. This has been the common belief over the last few decades, and many people outside of the North Pole will call her Jessica Claus around the Christmas holiday. Regardless of what her true first name is, everyone at the North Pole continues to refer to her as Mrs. Claus, even Santa! Some of the elves will call her Grandma Claus or Auntie Claus, but that is when they are very young. It is probably best for everyone to continue to call Mrs. Claus whatever name she asks us to. We wouldn’t want to upset her, and then just stop making cookies for everyone! What is Mrs Claus’ phone number?
Mrs. Claus has a special phone number to call. Her number is the same: 980-447-2682. If you’re lucky, Mrs. Claus will be the one to answer the phone when you call. But since they are getting so busy as Christmas gets closer, there may not be anybody to answer the phone the first time you call. If Mrs. Claus or Santa are unable to answer, the best thing to do is leave them a voicemail with detailed information on how to get back to you. Mrs. Claus listens to every single voice message that comes through and always does her best to call back as soon as possible. The best part about calling the North Pole is that it’s a landline, so you won’t have to worry about ever losing cell reception. For you youngsters that don’t know what a landline is, it’s an old school telephone that is connected to the towers through a wire, and not wifi. Even in the most intense blizzards, you will still be able to communicate with Santa and Mrs. Claus.

She has a lot of say with who gets to go on the Nice list, and which unfortunate children are put on the Naughty list. There is nothing worse than waking up Christmas morning and seeing a big pile of coal where all of your presents should have been. Mrs. Claus is also very helpful with picking out what kinds of toys you’d like Santa and the elves to make for your gifts this year. Mrs. Claus doesn’t work as much in the workshop as she used to, but she still has a few favorite things she likes to make. If you are extra lucky, a few of the elves might join the call as well. When is Mrs. Claus’ Birthday?
No one has been able to confirm when Mrs. Claus’ birthday is, and Santa won’t spill the beans either. She likes to celebrate on the Spring Equinox, the perfect balance of day and night.

Yes! Mrs. Claus is the wife of Santa Claus. She is known for making cookies with the elves, caring for the reindeer, and preparing toys with her husband, Santa Claus.
