How much snow does Maine get each winter?

Maine receives between 50-70 inches of snow each winter.

Maine is no stranger to snowfall, though it does vary depending on what part of the state you’re in. On the coast, the annual average snowfall clocks in anywhere from 50-70 inches per year, while heavier snowfall occurs more inland, with an average of 60-110 inches per year. The coast of Maine rarely sees more than 15-20 inches per year, but the occasional Nor’easter may drop 10 or more inches of snow in a single day. It's safe to say winter weather in Maine always includes snow -- though there is certainlysnowplace that compares to the winter accumulations in Caribou, Maine!

For what it's worth, some winters are more brutal than others, but few compare to the winter of 2013 when Maine saw its single largest snowfall to date during Winter Storm Nemo. Gorham, Maine got the worst of it with a whopping 35.5 inches of snowfall during the storm, making it the snowiest place in Maine at the time.
